United Way helps those living close to the edge
- the childcare worker who takes care of other
children or the parking lot attendant who cannot
afford his own car - with services such as:
- Legal assistance for low income women
struggling with child support
- Parenting programs and support groups
that help to reduce stress and anger, and
teach parents how to cope with children with
emotional and behavioral problems.
- Credit and financial counseling for the
under or unemployed.
- Temporary assistance due to job loss,
illness or other emergency.
- Crisis intervention and support services
for families struggling with substance
abuse, depression and other behavioral
health problems;
