Born Learning

Experts know that investing in a child’s success in the early years of his/her life is critical. Research shows the tangible results: adults with greater success in life, fewer involvement in crime, higher incomes, and higher education levels.

Yet, almost half of America’s kindergarteners come to school behind, according to the U.S. Department of Education. The poorest kids are already more than a year behind. Many families aren’t sure exactly what action needs to be done. The Born Learning campaign is designed specifically to help young children prepare for school.

Parents, grandparents and caregivers learn how to turn everyday activities such as sorting laundry or grocery shopping into quality learning moments... and that’s important because children are born learning. Visit www.bornlearning.org for easy-to-use tools, tips and resources to help create quality early learning opportunities for young children.

The Born Learning Campaign is sponsored by a new partnership between United Way, the Ad Council, and Civitas. The advertising, web site and most of the materials will also be produced in Spanish.
